Roadside Thai Food
Nong Ann runs this little place from the front of her home, with a little kitchen down the side and four tables out the front.
With the help of her young daughter, Nong Ann is waitress and cook. Sometimes if it is busy you might have a little wait, but it's worth it. What's the rush anyway, this is Samui.
We have 2 favourite meals here, Tom Yum Goong and Tempura Shrimp. The Tom Yum Goong is a classic Thai soup, made with lots of fresh local vegetable ingredients and fresh shrimp. Alternatively you can have chicken or pork. The Tempura Shrimp, are beautifully bread crumbed, lightly fried and complimented with sweet chill sauce.
The portions are plentiful, the most shrimp we've eaten at every meal and you can walk away satisfied with change from 150 Baht.
Also, recently Nong Ann has started making roadside fruit shakes and coffee shakes, which are pretty tasty too.
